Description:	The certificate reads: 'The Senate and the Council desiring that the University acknowledge the eminent achievements of Dame Ninette de Valois by receiving her with honour into its membership, resolved that there be conferred upon her the Degree of Doctor of Music honoris causa. And our signatures are here subscribed with the Seal of the University annexed in witness that at a Congregation held on 29th June 1955 she was admitted to that Degree and to the privileges proper thereto'.
