Description: |
Five-pronged star in silver and enamel, with the star's arms joined by green enamel sprays of laurel and oak. The central medallion bears on the obverse the legend 'République Française' and '1870' around a female head in profile ('Marianne'), symbolic of the Republic of France. The medallion's reverse carries crossed French tricolours and the inscription 'Honneur et Patrie'. The Badge is suspended from its plain red ribbon by an enamelled laurel and oak wreath. The ribbon covers a metal frame. Given in presentation case ROH/VAL/BEQ/10 and related to the Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur dress miniature of the Badge ROH/VAL/BEQ/09, certificate ROH/VAL/BEQ/07, and letter ROH/VPP/1/25. |
