Description: Watercolour and ink sketch for a Fan Bearer who is depicted wearing a black wig decorated with a green headband and orange flowers, a blue and gold necklace, a white pleated tunic worn underneath a pale yellow, green, and orange decoratively patterned sarong, and a white sheer shawl. She carries two feathered fans. The note '4' on the front of the design denotes the number of costumes to be made from this design. An ink stamp on the back of the design reads: The Property of the Grand Opera Syndicate, Covent Garden Theatre'.
