Dress worn by Margot Fonteyn as Juliet in Act I scene 4 in the Paul Czinner film of The Royal Ballet production of 'Romeo and Juliet' (1965)

Description: Off-the-shoulder empire-line dress with a scoop neckline trimmed with gold plastic ribbon. The bodice is white lace over gold lamé, decorated with appliquéd white ribbon, gold plastic ribbon, faux amber beads and diamanté. There are two lines of gold plastic ribbon under the bust running round to the back. The full-length sleeves are white lace over gold lamé decorated like the bodice to the elbow. The cream and gold gathered puffs over the elbows end in long narrow cuffs. The mid-length skirt is cream silk chiffon over a layer of cream and gold organza. The dress is attached to a pink net leotard.
