Scope and content: Head-and-shoulders profile portrait of Melba in a pearl headdress. In black ink at the bottom of the image Melba has written: 'To my dear friend Lady de Grey. Nellie Melba.' Lady de Grey's label, which runs under two photographs, reads: 'Melba in 'Lucia' no one can ever have sung the mad scene so wonderfully'. The photographic studio is Nadar, Rue d'Anjou St. Hré 51 (Hôtel Privé), Paris. The postcard was originally in album volume 2, page 6 (top left).
