Welcome to the Royal Opera House Collections Online

Welcome to Royal Opera House Collections Online. The Royal Opera House recently embarked on an exciting new project to open access to the rich and varied materials housed in ROH Collections to as wide an audience as possible. This website is the foundation stone of that project, and allows members of the public to search, for the first time, the Collections Catalogue and the Performance Database.

The Collections

The Collections

Two collections have been selected for the launch of the website: the costume collection containing some 4,000 items, and the Frank Sharman Photographic Collection of dance photographs from the 1940s and 1950s. The introduction to ROH Collections provides an overview of the collections housed at the Royal Opera House, and as more collections are catalogued they will be placed online.

Performance database

Performance Database

The Performance Database reproduces the information found in the theatre’s programmes and is one of the most comprehensive databases in use by a performing arts company. Selected records are available now, and will continue to be added to on a regular basis.
